The benefits of using natural cleaning products
Using natural cleaning products is beneficial for many reasons. First, you don’t risk exposure to something called toxic body burden. Toxic body burden is the accumulation of chemicals that collect in our bodies as a result of repeated exposure or use, especially over the long term. This means even though a chemical may not harm you right away, it can collect in your body and potentially cause future health problems. Second, you drastically lower the incidence of respiratory issues that can be caused by breathing in harsh chemicals and detergents frequently found in synthetic products that have been linked to a host of respiratory concerns like asthma and labored breathing. Third, you are contributing to a more positive and friendly environment in which there are less synthetic chemicals being used that ultimately enter our airways and water spaces.
Ingredients in natural cleaning products
All of our natural cleaning products are formulated without synthetics or fillers. They are non-toxic and free of ingredients we don’t believe are necessary to achieve cleanliness in the home. Our home cleaning products are biodegradable and made from renewable, raw materials. Some of these ingredients include:
Capryl/Capryl Glucoside is derived from coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and sugars; a mildly foaming non-ionic surfactant used to dislodge dirt, grease and grime from soiled household surfaces.
Sodium Carbonate is derived from trona (a natural mineral); serves as a builder in the formulation. It acts to soften water through precipitation to promote and focus surfactant efficacy on soiled household surfaces.
Sodium Laurylglucosides Hydroxypropylsulfonate is a mouthful, but when broken down very simply, this is an ingredient that is derived from raw fruits and vegetables. It’s processed by combining sugar and wax-like fatty acids with acidic ingredients, then balanced with a base. The benefits this plant based ingredient provides are foaming and cleansing, which is why it’s a powerhouse part of our Dish Wish dish soap.
