Where do I turn when things appear more difficult than my brain can handle?
For well over a decade, I’ve had the good fortune of having a resource that won’t quit me and that appears to remain a step ahead of any personal development work I do.
That resource is Dr Deepak Chopra’s tiny book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. The new abridged version reads in under an hour. More importantly, I can read 1 law per day in 8 or so minutes. Dr Chopra suggests aligning Law 1 with Sunday, so every Wednesday I am reminded of the law of Least Effort; Fridays, the law of Detachment.
I now understand that brushing my teeth and aligning my brain are the same act. Bacteria will attach itself in my mouth just as stinky thinking will materialize if I don’t consciously choose otherwise. Frankly, it shows up uninvited anyways. I think it’s part of the risk of living a busy, urban way of life.
Now that we are inviting our Saje clients and staff to join us in making The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success a support system for everyday experiences, I look forward to having an inner-outer peacemaking opportunity with every visit to one of our stores.
I remember once sharing with Kate one of my out-there visions. I told her that I envisioned a day when Saje stores would offer a product that had no physical form. I feel like we are nearing that goal, and I am thrilled to see where this new project takes us.
I believe in the power of conscious conversation. For healing, for peace or just to create joy in the moment, I think it is important to check in with my consciousness and choose my thoughts. I sure hope this vision spreads and I look forward to my next conversation.
